NEW COMMUNICATIONS CO-ORDINATOR AND COMBINED NEWSLETTER
Welcoming on board our new Parish Communications Co-ordinator: Barry Kearney.
For those who haven’t yet met Barry, he has been generously volunteering his time and talents over this past year. Barry has a passion for parish renewal and brings with him a wealth of skills and experience in IT, communications, fund-raising and more. Earlier this year Barry created the new combined website for the Healesville and Lilydale parishes, which has been enriched by a range of new resources and links including ‘Formed’, a vast on-line Catholic media hub which all parishioners are welcome to subscribe to at no personal cost (we have invested in a parish subscription). ‘Formed’ has a wide range of well-produced catechetical and faith-related videos, offering a brilliant opportunity to grow in your faith at home. If you haven’t yet had the chance to check out the new website you can do so at: https://stpatrickslilydale.org.au/
Barry is also a highly skilled photographer and has put together a stunning digital photo album from Sunday’s Corpus Christi Procession accessible from the parish website. Definitely worth a look! I’m so grateful to Barry for his enthusiasm, professionalism and broad skillset which he has been willing to lay down in the service of the parish. If you have ideas/suggestions/feedback for the website, feel free to contact myself, Barry or the parish office.
In addition to the combined website, we will also be transitioning as of next weekend to a combined parish newsletter for St Patrick’s Lilydale and St Brigid’s Healesville. This is a practical decision, to minimise the work load for our secretary, Stephanie Johnson. It will also hopefully foster an interest and awareness of what is happening in each of the parishes, which although distinct parishes are united in one faith and (alas!) by the practical limitations of one parish priest!
