New Shrine to Our Lady of Fatima

It was something of a rush to the finish line, but we managed to install the new side altar to Our Lady of Fatima in Holy Week, just in time for Holy Thursday, where it served as an altar of repose. The altar was a true labour of love from local parishioner, Frank Feltham, who hand-crafted this remarkable piece over the course of many months. The altar will house our parish’s beautiful statue of Our Lady of Fatima, so the parish can continue to foster a deep devotion to Our Blessed Mother.   The altar is elevated on a platform which was kindly built and paid for by the Hangan family. They too are owed a debt of gratitude for their unstinting generosity to the parish. Thanks also to Robbie Smith and Guy Harrison who helped with the heavy lifting to put the Marian Altar in place!
 
Note too, that the crown for Our Lady’s statue is currently being refurbished and re-gilt and should be returned more glorious than ever in a month or so.
